This piece was painted from a vintage photograph of a woman at Blue Springs in DeLand, FL. In the photograph, she appears to be on holiday with her family, yet something in her expression suggested more to the story. Though I don’t know her name or history, I felt an immediate connection to her. The painting is named after the springs (and her eyes), reflecting her quiet, introspective presence. Through this work, I’ve sought to capture both her mystery and the bond I felt with her, even in her silence.
